黨ǿƵ Club Offers Summer Seashore Science Classes for Children

黨ǿƵ, WOODS HOLE, MA — 黨ǿƵ ( 黨ǿƵ) Club invites children ages 4, 5, and 6 to explore, discover, and learn about the seashore habitat around Woods Hole.

The 黨ǿƵ offers two Coastal Explorers classes during the summer:

Sea Urchins will focus on invertebrate life at the seashore, including sea stars, mollusks, and crustaceans.
Bluefish will focus on marine vertebrate life, including fish, whales, and coastal birds.

In both classes, children will learn about native species through visits to the Woods Hole Science Aquarium and the 黨ǿƵ Marine Resources Center, and will participate in related hands-on art projects and musical activities. Classes may be taken in any sequence.

All classes will run from 10 AM to 2 PM in the 黨ǿƵ Club, 100 Water Street, Woods Hole. The fees per session are $85 for 黨ǿƵ Club Members, and $105 for unaffiliated families.

While space is limited, applications are still being accepted for all remaining sessions:

Sea Urchins:

  • Session II - July 17 & 19
  • Session III - July 31 & August 2

Bluefish:

  • Session II - July 24 & 26
  • Session III - August 7 & 9

The 黨ǿƵ Club is offering its 93rd summer of programs and activities for the Woods Hole scientific and greater Cape Cod communities. Highlights from the 2012 calendar include Jeremy Korr’s folk singing every Tuesday night at 7:15 PM, yoga classes with Carmina, and a variety of special events every Wednesday night at 7:00 PM.  Other weekly events include adult exercise classes, movie nights, and kid’s yoga.
