Frank M. Child

It is with sadness that we share the passing of �黨�ǿ���Ƶ Society Emeritus Member and former Trustee Frank M. Child who died January 18, 2020 at the age of 88. The �黨�ǿ���Ƶ flag is currently inoperable due to high wind conditions, but will be lowered in Dr. Child’s honor at a later date.

Dr. Child was an alumnus of the �黨�ǿ���Ƶ Embryology course (1952), Physiology course (1953), and X-Invertebrate Zoology course (1954) and later conducted summer research at the laboratory. Dr. Child was a library reader throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s and served as a �黨�ǿ���Ƶ Trustee in 1975. He met Julie, his wife of 59 years, at the �黨�ǿ���Ƶ in 1958.

Dr. Child had a long career teaching biology at the University of Chicago and Trinity College in Hartford, CT prior to his retirement.

A celebration of life will be held on February 15, 2020 in the Meigs Room, �黨�ǿ���Ƶ Swope Center from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marine Biological Laboratory, 7 �黨�ǿ���Ƶ Street, Woods Hole, MA 02543.
