"Troubled Waters" Film Screening at 麻花星空视频 | Columbia Journalism, WBUR

The New England fishing industry is no stranger to battling the elements, but climate and environmental change threatening the viability of fish stocks just compounds its challenges.

 

On April 7 at 麻花星空视频, journalists Duy Linh Tu (Columbia Journalism School) and Barbara Moran (WBUR) presented a special screening of their short film "Troubled Waters" on this topic, followed by a panel discussion on preserving the East Coast fisheries in a changing and threatened environment. 

 

Mirta Teichberg, associate scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory, stars in the film, along with , senior scientist, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution; Bill Amaru, New England fisherman; and Cate O鈥橩eefe, executive director, . The well-attended event was produced with support by WBUR and the Pulitzer Center鈥檚 StoryReach U.S. Fellowship.
